Loulo conquered development related challenges to come within 3% of its forecast production for the year. With the new Yalea underground mine scheduled to achieve full production by the end of 2009, Loulo is on track to ramp up its annual output from 250 000 ounces to 400 000 ounces by 2011.
Morila, which produced its 5 millionth ounce of gold during the past year, is now being prepared for its conversion from mining to stockpile treatment. In this new form, forecast to continue until 2012/2013, it is expected to remain a strong cash generator.

1)The Yalea underground development is on track to reach the planned 120 000 tonnes per month by the end of 2009.
